Do you have a “bucket item” on your list that requires you to travel to accomplish it? Like most of us, founder and president of Big Spirit, Shanne Soulier, has a bucket list of activities he would love to do in his lifetime. Recently, he crossed one of those items off his list!
Not too long ago, Shanne traveled to Hawaii as part of a trade mission for indigenous businesses and
had the opportunity to do something he’d wanted to do for a long time: swim with sea turtles.
Turtles hold a significant meaning in American Indian culture. The turtle symbolizes health, safety, wisdom, fertility, protection, spirituality, and longevity for many tribes. Some American Indians believe that the turtle contributed to creation because the turtle dove into the primeval waters to retrieve mud to create Mother Earth.
Because of the important symbolism that ties a turtle to representing wisdom in his culture, they have always fascinated Shanne. There were even different times in his life when he raised snapping turtles.
His experience of swimming with sea turtles off the shore of Waikiki is something he will not soon forget. Even though there were many tourists in the same coral reef, Shanne managed to break away from the crowd and have a moment to see a turtle up close, in solitude.
This experience with turtles in the warm Pacific waters has made Shanne grateful for the opportunities Big Spirit has created for him, both professionally and personally. He knows he is doing what he was meant to do as a career. When you work with Shanne, you know that you have someone who will execute your marketing vision with integrity, creativity, and collaboration. Contact Big Spirit today to work together.
