Earlier this month, Big Spirit Inc had the opportunity to participate in the Minnesota American Indian Chamber of Commerce’s (MAICC) 35th annual fundraiser and dinner.
It was the first time Big Spirit Inc. attended and took part; happily donating a gift basket and art for the silent auction to help the chamber raise funds. They also had a booth to highlight what Big Spirit can do for the marketing efforts and promotional product needs for American Indian-based organizations, non-profits, and initiatives.
Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan was in attendance and the owner, Shanne Soulier, was pleased to speak with her again. Earlier this year, Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan stopped by the Cultural Destination Booth in the Education Building at the Minnesota State Fair, where Shanne met her for the first time, sharing the work and mission of Big Spirit.
One reason Big Spirit was honored to attend MAICC’s event was that Shanne was able to connect with so many people he and the company works with and supports. “It was good to see them in person,” he stated.
The MAICC is one of the first American Indian Chambers in the United States and the first and oldest Chamber for people of color in Minnesota. The founders incorporated it in 1986. Their mission is to promote, advocate, and create economic prosperity on behalf of American Indian businesses, organizations, professionals, and tribal enterprises in a global market. This mission aligns perfectly with Big Spirit’s mission!
