Proud to Be a Makwa (Bear) Sponsor
Big Spirit Inc. is proud to be a sponsor of this important event, aimed at raising funds for this organization and their many programs and resources that support and strengthen American Indian people. We also designed the signage for this event.
Specifics About the Fundraiser
WAMBLI SOARS! will take place from 4 pm to 7 pm at 2925 Elliot Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN.
Enjoy a delicious Native feast catered by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community catering service. Hosted by local favorite, Don Shelby, the evening’s exciting program includes a Native dancing demonstration and remarks by MN State Senator Mary Kunesh and DIW’s Executive Director Louise Matson. You’ll also have an opportunity to participate in a Native Round Dance!
Participatory Native games, select items from our online Silent Auction, and information tables where you can learn more about DIW programs will fill the lobby.
An online auction opens April 20th and closes at noon on April 28th.
Division of Indian Work
The Division of Indian Work has been a key contributor to the Native community for over 70 years. Its mission is to support and strengthen urban American Indian people through culturally based education, traditional healing approaches, and leadership development. They focus on the community and deliver programs and services directly or in partnership with other organizations to achieve this. Its vision is American Indian communities that build upon inherent strengths and create safe, healthy, and nurturing environments in which everyone thrives.
Donating a Table
Big Spirit is also donating our table at WAMBLI SOARS! to one of our deserving clients, Anishinabe Academy, because we are committed to bringing the community together. We are happy to send several people from Anishinabe Academy to this event for a very special evening for them to enjoy.
